Happy Birthday, sir!
Q: How do you write such strong/well-realized/positively portrayed women?
A: I don’t. I write characters. Some of those characters are women.
Also Rachel Cole Alves from his recent Punisher run & Carrie Stetko in Whiteout & Whiteout: Melt.
Greg Rucka writes the best ladies.
Best of the Week (10.30.2013): Sandman Overture #1 by Neil Gaiman & J H Williams III.
This thing was fucking beautiful. Almost the entire issue is two (or more!) page spreads that look amazing. The writing is awesome too. Although it is a prequel, the more Sandman and Sandman-related literature you’ve read, the more you’ll appreciate. I’ve heard some hating, but fuck that; it rules.
Infinity, the Swamp Thing annual & Saga were also excellent.
Best of the Week (10.23.2013): Velvet #1 by Ed Brubaker & Steve Epting.
While not the BEST work steve epting has ever done, it is still really good. Hopefully this tops Brubaker’s Captain America/Winter Soldier run, which was AMAZING and Steve Epting drew a lot of.
Daredevil was also very good, but not as amazing as usual.
